Sparkle Farkle

Here is another panel I am working on for my garment.

This one is a hand dyed (low-immersion) foundation that has been quilted in an erratic zigzag, then sequined. The sequins are actually layered. The large one is red, the middle one is copper then the small one is gold. They are secured with gold and brown seed beads and small gold sequins have been scattered throughout to balance the empty space.

This the foundation piece. It was quilted with variegated thread and has been stretched on my beading frame. The pattern piece has been marked in basting thread and chalk.

All sequined! This part went relatively quickly, even with the layered sequins.

A close up of the sparkly!

Once the piece is assembled, I’ll need to go back and add some filler sequins so the seams don’t look like they have a halo.
