Mooning

While running out of ideas for fabric treatments looking into different fabric treatments, I kind of fell in love with this color combination. It reminds me of a bright moon in a dark sky.

It’s hard to tell in the picture, but the white parts are opalescent and glittery. It was done on a hand dyed, navy, shadow-stripe cotton.

Once the layers (fashion fabric, low-loft cotton batting, muslin backing) were pinned together, I quilted the piece using black thread on the navy and light grey thread on the white parts.
